AIR CYLINDER

AIR CYLINDER
Air cylinder is usually storage units of the vehicle. The air is stored inside cylinder either by using an air compressor or by liquid air through reverse osmosis process. The air is filled into cylinder at certain pressure. The pressure inside the cylinder is usually above atmospheric pressure. The cylinder is equipped with a release valve to release the containing air when needed. The pressure gauge at the outlet measures the air inside the cylinder and pressure having in it. The valve at the outlet is connected to the inlet valve of the IC engine .the pipes are connected to the cylinders using brass adapters. The adapters have threads to fasten with pipe.
The pressure gauges indicate the gas level and pressure inside the cylinder. The regulator at outlet of cylinder is used to open and shut off the valve to release air from cylinder. Upon release of the regulator the air flows from cylinder to two way valve where the flow bifurcates and joins then inlet port at the engine. The two way valve when turned forward the engine shaft rotate forward.

The regulator possesses a double gauge of which one gauge indicates the air level in cylinder and another one indicates the pressure inside his cylinder. Usually brass regulators are used in the cylinders and they are connected to brass adapters
